| Tom Winter has 30+ years of editorial, marketing, media and branding experience, a global presence that includes projects with companies such as Rossignol, Vail Resorts, Eldora Ski Area, Taos Mountain Resort and others. The founding editor of Freeze Magazine, Tom has held senior editorial positions at both Powder and Freeskier Magazines and is a four-time winner of the National Association of Snowsports Journalists’ Howard Hirsch award for ski photography.
Tom’s photographs and words have been published by ESPN, the Los Angeles Times, Outside Magazine and many other editorial clients. Tom has founded, organized and produced numerous skiing and snowboarding events, most notably the largest ski and snowboard competition in New Mexico, Taos Freeride. Hosted by Taos Ski Valley, this competition is over 20 years old, attracting an international field of competitors Most recently Tom was the Americas Manager for the Freeride World Tour (FWT), where he oversaw event ecosystem development, branding and media relations across North and South America. In addition to his professional work, Tom is an accomplished ski mountaineer, with first descents on mountains in Europe, North America and South America including Chimborazo (6,268m/20,564ft) and Cotopaxi.
